章)The blade sliced into her wrist, and Elena flinched as the pain and chill spread over her body.
She doesnt want to die like this.
She has to live! She has to prove that she is innocent!
Elena got up from the tub on her stomach, and perhaps it was the intense desire to survive that gave her strength. She fought back the intense pain coursing through her body, found a hat to cover her face, and went out.
Shes going to the doctor.
Elena didnt dare go to a regular hospital to see if she would be recognized. Instead, she searched for a small pharmacy where she could discreetly purchase medicine and treat her wound on her own.
She is in such a wretched state, with redness and bruises on her face that distort her features. It is surprising that the people in the pharmacy really didnt recognize her, but she still managed to buy some medicine and gauze.
After a day and a night without food, Elena was so hungry that she began to see spots. She deliberately avoided the crowded area and murdered a hotdog from a secluded roadside stall before taking her medication and making her way to the hotel.
Vehicles are coming and going along the roadside, and to Elenas surprise, she spots Nicholas.
His car is parked on the side of the road, and the car window is down, revealing half of his handsome, composed face as though he is waiting for someone.
Elena stiffened.
A few moments later, a woman wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses steps out of the store and gets into Nicholas car.
Nicholas immediately turned his head to look at her. The two exchanged a few words. Then, the woman takes off her sunglasses, wraps her hands around Nicholass neck, tilts her head up to meet his lips, and the two of them just kiss in the car like two horny high school students.
Elena froze in place, as though she had stumbled into an icy cave.
She knows that woman. That woman, Anna, is her biggest rival at work. Anna has set her up countless times, both openly and in the dark!
But now... this woman is kissing her husband!
Nicholas is cheating on me!
Elena clenched her fists and shivered.
Blood rushed to her head, and she couldnt see straight. Elena rushed over in just a few steps, grabbed the car window, and shouted angrily, "Nicholas, get your ass out of the car!"
The two people who are devouring each other in the car are taken aback by the sudden appearance of Elena, especially Anna, who lets out a scream and instinctively seeks refuge in Nicholass arms.
"Nicholas, who is this ugly woman?" Anna asked innocently.
Elenas face is full of bruises and swelling, her features are deformed, and she is no longer half as beautiful and captivating as she once was.
Nicholas turns to look at her. His body freezes for a moment, and Elena is certain that he has recognized her!
"I dont know." Nicholas said coldly, "Probably some crazy woman."
"Her face is so scary... I dont want to see her." Anna said that in Nicholass arms.
"Then were leaving now." Nicholas finished, and the car window closed.
Elena gripped the car window and refused to let go; her fingers were trapped in it, her bones squeaking, but she still didnt pull her hand back. Elena broke down and yelled with all her strength, "Im your wife! How could you cheat on me? Anna, youre a mistress!"
She has gone through so much in the past two days, to the point where she is on the verge of losing it.
"Im going to make this public! Anna, Ill let everyone know that you seduced a married man!"
Anna seemed frightened, her eyes red. "Nicholas, dont... I dont want to be accused by my fans, no."
Nicholas gently pats her back, his voice soft. "Dont worry. I wont let anything happen to you.”
After that, he turned his head and coldly glanced at Elena. "If you dare to go out and even mention it, Ill rip your tongue out and make your life a living hell!"
Elena shouted, tears running down her face, "Im already in hell! Nicholas, did you know that I almost took my own life just now? I loved you so much. Why are you doing this to me?"
Nicholas frowned impatiently. "If youre going to kill yourself, get the hell out of here and die; dont come bother me! Elena, dont make me do that again!"
When he finished, he completely ran out of patience and urged the driver to leave.
The car starts while Elenas fingers are still caught in the window, causing her to be carried forward by the car.
After the car picks up speed, Elena is unable to keep up with that speed at all and is practically being pulled along.
Without paying attention, she trips over her own feet, causing her body to fall and her entire ankle to grind against the road. Elena screamed in pain.
"Shut up!" Nicholas opened his mouth in disgust and finally rolled down the car window, allowing Elena to break free and roll along the road due to the inertia.
